LArdente is a glam Italian dining experience from Chef David Deshaies, the culinary talent behind two other beloved Washington, DC, restaurants Unconventional Diner and Central. While the menu pulls mainly from Chef David's travels throughout Italy and love of Italian food, he can't help but find inspiration from his upbringing in Frances Loire Valley, where his family ran a restaurant, and his many years working with the late Chef Michel Richard. Deshaies was named Chef of the Year by the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington in 2020. Desserts are the handiwork of Executive Pastry Chef Manabu Inoue, a native of Japan who worked under Chef Jol Robuchon in Tokyo and Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto at his restaurants in Philadelphia, Miami and New York City.
