Hi Pasta Lovers! My name is Allison, and I'm the founder of Pasta Louise. Here's the short version of a long story...
Louise was my grandmother, and she taught me how to cook pretty much when I was able to stand. She also taught me the importance of community, and family, and how eating around a table together is what life is all about.
Pasta Louise opened in July 2020, smack in the middle of COVID. And while that was definitely not the plan, we quickly became a beacon of hope in the neighborhood . . . a place where you could safely gather with family or friends over a comforting bowl of fresh pasta.
As the world reopened, so did our space. We launched a second, full-service restaurant a few blocks away, and transformed our original location into a café and takeaway spot. Then in March 2024, we opened Bar Louise—a 1940s-inspired cocktail lounge on 7th Ave, the kind of place we imagine Louise herself would have loved.
Our food is just how Grandma Louise would have made it. Everything from scratch, pasta made fresh every day. We use local ingredients and we take great care to continuously change the menu to keep it exciting and seasonal.
We also have a scholarship program called the Pasta Rose Scholarship, which we award to a Brooklyn student who has lost a parent to cancer. I lost my sister to cancer in 2018, and this scholarship is to honor her and her two daughters, Jasmine Rose and Scarlet Rose.
Thank you for joining our pasta club, we think you're going to love it!
