The Experience
The world's not short on wine clubs, so why join ours? Well . . . it's so much more than a wine club, because wine is so much more than a mere beverage. This is a private venue for appreciation, a chance to deepen your engagement one bottle at a time. This is a flight of fancy, something to blithely share with friends or soothe the nerves at the end of a long day. This is a community of wine lovers who meet virtually every third Thursday of the month to learn more about the month's picks with award-winning sommelier Bill Jensen. However you want to engage it, this is a chance to engage wine as the agent of discovery, be it new flavors, new corners of the world, or new friends.

Sign up for three bottles a month at $100 or six at $200. Delivery available for $15 for DC and Virginia within the Beltway. Join at any time. Cancel at any time. Each batch of wines centers around a single theme and every drop includes a newsletter with Bill's reflections on the latest selections, book recommendations, and exhaustive notes on each bottle.

Tail Up Goat is a neighborhood restaurant based in the historic Adams Morgan enclave of Washington, DC. After a decade working side-by-side at some of the city's finest restaurants, owners Jon Sybert, Jill Tyler, and Bill Jensen opened their doors in February 2016. As longtime Adams Morgan residents, they hoped to establish the kind of enduring local institution they would want to frequent themselves. The restaurant's name is a nod to the U.S. Virgin Islands, Jill's childhood home. She and Jon tied the knot on her favorite beach, and Bill occasionally joins them on vacation along with his wife. It is the kind of place where time slows, shoulders relax, and you are able to reconnect easily with friends and family, which is to say exactly the kind of place we want our restaurant to be. Tail Up Goat has received 1 Michelin Star each year since 2016 as well as a 2024 James Beard Nomination for Outstanding Wine Program.  

In 2019, the same team opened Reveler's Hour around the block with a focus on house-made pastas and natural wine.
The wines are available for pickup and delivery on the second Friday of each month at Reveler's Hour. Wine Club meets via Zoom the Thursday thereafter promptly at 8:00pm EST. Each month's picks will include a range of wine styles to pique your interest and appeal to every palate. As for themes, here's what the next few months has in store:

As for the logistics:
  • Sign up anytime during the month and you're in the Club! Subsequent recurring charges will always go through on the last day of the prior month.
  • We're always happy to hold your wine if you can't pick it up at that time. Just drop us an email to let us know when to expect you.
  • For the time being, delivery is only available for DC proper and Virginia within the Beltway. We hope to cast a wider net in the near future.
