Understory Supper Club

The Experience
We created the Supper Club to carry the heart of Understory into your home. As a majority queer-owned, worker-owned collective of chefs, artists, and organizers — and proud James Beard Award winners — we built this space so everyone can eat well, feel welcome, and connect in ways that strengthen community resilience.

Supper Club dinners are our beloved Collective Meal—formerly available only as brunch—reimagined for at-home, once-a-month dinner enjoyment. Each meal is made to feed two or four people, shaped by the seasons, our many culinary traditions, and the shared care that drives our kitchen. Every order sustains good jobs for people of color in the food industry, keeps our Community Offering meals flowing to neighbors who might not be able to pay, and supports a space that celebrates working-class, BIPOC, queer, trans, immigrant, and disabled communities.

This is dinner rooted in solidarity, made for people who believe in showing up for each other.

When you join the Supper Club, you’re investing in a worker-owned collective of chefs, artists, and organizers who built Understory to resist exploitation and create something rooted in interdependence. Your support helps us sustain good jobs for people of color in the food industry, keep our Community Offering meals flowing to neighbors who might not be able to pay, and protect a space where working-class, BIPOC, queer, trans, immigrant, and disabled communities are centered, affirmed, and celebrated. Every meal you take home is part of our ongoing work to resist gentrification, practice radical community care, and make sure there’s always a place at the table for everyone.
