The Benanti Family is one of a handful of historic families of wine producers on the famed slopes of Sicily's Mount Etna. No producer has influenced the region like Benanti, from establishing the DOC zonation itself to bringing international awareness to the greatness of the wines.
They have vineyards on all four slopes of the Etna, vinifying all wines the same, producing clear expressions of the dramatic terroir of Etna. The Serra della Contessa Riserva Etna Rosso bottling is a striking wine - bottled from a tiny parcel in the Contrada Monte Serra on the Southeastern slopes of Etna from all pre-phylloxera, centenarian vines.
